Add and Remove Services

There are several ways to add a service to a private network.

Adding services to VPC

You can add a cloud service to an existing private network:

  • In the NetworksPrivate Networks section, 

  • In a server’s settings,

  • When creating a new service.

In "Private Networks"

  1. In the NetworksPrivate networks section click on the network.

  2. Click Add in the Services block.

  3. Select New or Existing depending on whether the service already exists in the control panel.

    • New: Select the service type: server, database, or load balancer.

You will be redirected to the service creation page, where the required network will already be selected in the Network step. 

Complete creating the service. The IP address for the service will be issued automatically.

    • Existing: Select the service you want to add to VPC and click Add.

Please note that the cloud server's public IP address may be changed.

Hostman will start transferring the service to this VPC. Usually, it takes about one minute to transfer 10 GB. After the transfer is completed, the service will be restarted, with the total downtime of 5-10 minutes.

In server’s settings

The server's public IP address may be changed.

To add a server to a private network: 

  1. Go to Cloud servers and click on the server.

  2. Go to the Network tab.

  3. Click Enable next to the Private network.

  1. Select an existing network or click Add Network to create a new one.

    • New network: leave the default address range or specify your own.

    • Existing network: the server will be issued a private address automatically.

  1. Click Connect.

Hostman will start transferring the server to the private network. Usually it takes about one minute to transfer 10 GB. 

The server will be on during the transfer. After the transfer is completed, the server will be rebooted with the downtime of 5-10 minutes.

When creating a service

  1. Start creating a new cloud server, database or load balancer.
  2. In the Network step, select the private network from the drop-down list.

  1. Finish creating the service.

The service will be automatically added to this network when created. The private IP address for the service will be issued automatically.

Removing services from VPC

You can only remove cloud servers from VPC.

Cloud databases or load balancers cannot be removed from VPC, but can be transferred to another private network.

To remove a server from a private network:

  1. Go to Cloud servers and click on the server.

  2. In the Network tab, click Tune next to Private network.

  3. Click Exclude from private network and confirm.

Hostman will start removing the server from this network. Usually it takes about one minute for each 10 GB of disk size.

After the process is completed, the server will be rebooted with downtime of 5-10 minutes. The network interface will be assigned a public IP address.
