Network Settings

Updated on 22 April 2024

Each cloud database cluster has a private IP address from a particular private network. You can choose whether the cluster should also have a public IP as well as move the database cluster to another private network.

Private networks

You can move the cluster to another private network.

  1. Go to the Database section and click on the cluster.

  2. Go to the Network tab.

  3. Click Tune next to the private network.

  4. Select one of the existing networks or create a new one.

  5. Click Transfer.

Transferring the cluster will take some time. Normally, 10 GB transfers within 1 minute.

After the transfer is complete, the database will be restarted.

Overall downtime is around 5-10 minutes.

Public and private IPs

When you create a database cluster, it is assigned a private and a public IP addresses by default.

You can restrict access to the cluster via public IP so the cluster is only accessible within the private network.

  1. Go to the Database section and click on the cluster.

  2. Go to the Network tab.

  3. Disable the Allow access by public IP address option.

  4. Confirm disabling public access.

Later on, you can restore public access to the cluster, however, a new public IP address will be issued for the cluster.
