A public IP is an external IPv4 address that you can transfer between services within the same region.
Assigning a public IP to a service allows it to access the Internet.
When you assign a public IP to a VPC, it enables NAT allowing all services in the private network with a "Outgoing Only" routing rule to access the Internet through a shared IP address.
If you disable Internet access for a service, the public IP will be unlinked from it but retained on the account. You can reassign it to another service or the same one when you need to restore Internet access.
If you delete a service associated with a public IP, the IP address will still remain with your account, allowing you to transfer it to another service as needed.
You can request up to 10 public IP addresses per account per day.
Note that charges for an IP address will apply even if it is not linked to any service. To stop the charges, you must delete the IP address.
