Move Services between VPCs

Updated on 28 May 2024

You can move services between private networks within the same region.

  • For BGP networks, you will need to manually assign the private IP for the service after the migration.
  • When moving a cloud server to another VPC, its public IP address may be changed.
  • Kubernetes clusters cannot be migrated between any networks.

To move a service to another private network:

  1. Go to the page of the service.

  2. In the Network tab, click Configure next to Private network.

  3. Select an existing network or click Add network to create a new one.

Hostman will start transferring the service to the selected private network. Usually it takes about one minute to transfer 10 GB.

The service will be on during the transfer and then rebooted when the transfer is completed. The total downtime will be about 5-10 minutes.

When moving services between BGP networks, you will need to assign a new private IP address:

  • for cloud servers, follow this guide;
  • for cloud databases, load balancers, and Kubernetes, contact support.
