What is MySQL in the cloud and how does it differ from traditional installations?
MySQL in the cloud is a familiar DBMS, which is chosen due to its API for all popular development languages and broad support for popular CMS. However, unlike traditional MySQL, a cloud database solution allows you to save resources on hardware, database setup and administration — in Hostman all this is already done.
How do I get started with MySQL on your cloud service?
After registering in the Hostman control panel, you will be able to create and launch a DBMS in a few clicks. No special knowledge is required for this.
Which versions of MySQL are supported on your cloud platform?
We support the most widely used and stable versions: MySQL 5.7 and MySQL 8.
What are the performance characteristics of MySQL in the cloud, including allocated resources and data access speed?
Our MySQL databases (all other DBMS as well) run only on the most high-performance server hardware: Intel and AMD processors of the latest generations and ultra-fast NVMe disks. Data exchange speed — from 100 to 200 megabit per second. In a private network — up to 1 gigabit.
How is the security of MySQL ensured on your cloud service, including data encryption and authentication mechanisms?
We provide 99.9% SLA reliability. We place servers exclusively in the most reliable Tier IV data centers that meet all international security standards:
- ISO: data center design standards,
- PCI DSS: payment data processing standards,
- GDPR: European Union standards for the protection of personal data.
In addition, only authorized professionals (or only you) can access your database. Access can be easily revoked if the specialist's role changes. User management takes place directly in the modern Hostman control panel.
What database management tools are available for MySQL on your cloud platform?
You can use any familiar web interfaces for database management: Adminer, phpMyAdmin, etc. But it is most convenient to do it directly in the Hostman control panel. But it is most convenient to do it right in the Hostman control panel.
