Whenever necessary, you can easily reinstall your [server](https://hostman.com/cloud-server/)'s operating system using the tools in your Hostman dashboard.

> [!NOTE]
> Please note that reinstalling the operating system will delete all data on the disk.

The backups in the dashboard will not be deleted. Reinstalling will not affect the private network settings.

To reinstall the operating system:

1.  Go to the **Plan** tab and click **Reinstall**.

2.  Select which software to install: 

-   -   a clean operating system,
        
    -   a pre-configured image with a specific application from the **Marketplace** tab,
        
    -   a custom image that can be chosen or uploaded in the **Custom image** tab.

3.  (Optional) In the **Authorization** section can select an SSH key from those saved in the dashboard or add a new one.
4.  Add [a cloud-init script](https://hostman.com/docs/cloud-servers/cloud-init/) if necessary.
5.  Click **Reinstall**.
6.  Confirm the deletion of all disk data, after which the system will be reinstalled.
