Cloning lets you quickly create a copy of an existing app. The new app inherits its type, connected repository, and deployment settings, including environment variables. Before cloning, you can choose a different branch, region, or configuration for the new app. Once cloned, apps run independently of each other.

The cost of the new app may differ from the original, as it's calculated based on current pricing at the time of cloning.

> [!NOTE]
> Cloning an app does not copy its [stands](https://hostman.com/docs/app-platform/stands/).

Before cloning, make sure your balance has enough funds to cover the new app. If funds are insufficient, you'll see a payment notification when you start the cloning process.

To clone an app:

1. Go to the **App Platform** section and click on the app you want to clone.

2. Click the **Clone** icon in the top menu.

3. Review the new app's settings and adjust them if needed.

4. Enter a name for the app and select the project to add it to.

5. Click **Create App**.

App Platform will automatically create the new app and start its deployment. This process may take a few minutes. The original app keeps running without interruption.

Once deployment is complete, the cloned app will be available at a new technical domain. You can find it on the **App Platform** main page or in the app's **Dashboard** tab.
