You can enable two-factor authentication (2FA) to add an extra layer of security to your account. With 2FA on, signing in to the dashboard requires a verification code sent to your email, in addition to your login and password.

> [!NOTE]
> If you have [Passkey authentication](https://hostman.com/docs/account/security/passkey-authentication/) set up, 2FA won’t apply, even if it’s enabled.

## Enable 2FA

1. Go to **Account settings** → [**Security and login**](https://hostman.com/my/account/security).
2. Next to **Preferred method**, select **Email**.

Changes are applied immediately.

## Disable 2FA

1. Go to **Account settings** → [**Security and login**](https://hostman.com/my/account/security).
2. Next to **Preferred method**, select **Disabled**.
3. Enter the code sent to your email.
4. Click **Disable**.
